2010 John Deere Gator XUV 620i
T he recent popularity of small personal utility vehicles – like the John Deere Gator series – has given large homeowners a more effective way to move around their property. No need to rent a truck to move that rebuilt small block to your car garage up the hill – just throw it on the back of your Gator and drive it up in style.
At 18 miles per hour, the Gator can get up to a nice cruising speed, plenty enough to get you where you’re going in a hurry with no shifting necessary. With all the storage space in the back, the Gator isn’t exactly compact, but it can be placed in in a larger pickup truck bed if necessary. Mostly, however, it’s good for dragging you and some gear from Point A to Point b.
Various attachments allow you to plow snow, pull trailers, spray fertilizer and perform dozens of other tasks. There are a number of options, including a sun visor, lifting cargo holder, and cup holders among others.
The big attraction is the cargo box lift, which allows you to lift and dump whatever is being carried onto the ground. Ultimately, this improves the worth of the Gator as a cargo hauler exponentially, as it can be used as a landscaping tool or mini dump truck.
