Gone in 60 Seconds

If you’re looking for the “Eleanor” of your motoring dreams, look no farther than Oklahoma. For the past couple years, Classic Recreations, located in Yukon, OK, has been building officially licensed, brand-spanking new 1967 Mustangs in the style of “Eleanor,” the Mustang Fastback that starred in the 2000 remake of the movie "Gone in 60 Seconds."

Every Eleanor begins with a brand new body, features all-new components and undergoes arduous testing to ensure it is capable of pounding pavement wherever and whenever its owner wants.

Buyers of these retro rockets can choose between a 535-horsepower FI Model, with a top speed of 172 mph, 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds and a price tag of about $140,000, or a 770-horsepower FIS Model at about $190,000. The cars take four months to build and are available in five color combinations – Pepper Grey/Black, Red/White, Black/Silver, Yellow/Black and Blue/White – along with some very trick exterior trim pieces, not to mention a Go-Baby-Go ring on the shifter. Interestingly, a right-hand drive version of this modern classic is available as a $5,500 option. –LS
