MonsterRax Overhead Storage

M onsterRAX takes advantage of overhead space, which is a pretty smart way of storing items in many garages. Ceilings, all too often, are among the most neglected parts of a garage – especially the area directly above where your garage doors are located.

Standard equipment on MonsterRAX ceiling-mounted overhead racks includes 14-gauge steel, industrial-strength wire decking, heavy-duty center supports and 5/16-inch mounting hardware. And the company, which has been in business since 1952, makes a number of different rack configurations, capable of handling weights of 300 to 600 pounds. Racks also come in three colors – gray, white and silver-gray.

A rack that is 4 feet by 4 feet, with 300-pound capacity, costs about $200, while a 4-by-8 rack, with a 600-pound capacity and 64 cubic feet of storage, costs about $300. Do-it-yourselfers can purchase items directly from the manufacturer or you can hire a contractor recommended by MonsterRAX to install the rack.
