Taking in the Italian countryside by tour bus is one way to go. But if it's authentic Italian you're after, we recommend doing it from behind the wheel of a 500 horsepower Ferrari F430. Or a 612 Scaglietti. Or any one of five different Ferraris you'll get to drive in this ultimate Ferrari Italian Tour Package.
Red Travel’s Ferrari Touring Packages include stays at some of Italy’s most exclusive hotels, including De Russie in Rome, the Savoy in Florence and Fonteverde, a thermal spa in the heart of Tuscany. Gourmet meals, spa treatments and excursions are also included.
The entire experience exudes luxury, as does the price. The four-day package costs about $6,300 per person. Considering the tour bus alternative, that sounds like quite a bargain.

Taking in the Italian countryside by tour bus is certainly one way to go. An entirely more exhilarating alternative is to do it from behind the wheel of a 490 horsepower Ferrari F430. Such is the kind of once-in-a-lifetime experience Red Travel offers on its Ferrari tours of Italy. While all of its tours are customizable with destinations throughout Italy, the company’s four-day package driving from roundtrip from Florence to Rome through Tuscany, is its most popular offering. Guest drivers have the opportunity to join a group of up to 10 participants, taking turns behind the wheel of four or five models of Ferrari.
“We chose Tuscany because it offers the best road conditions with no little traffic and few traffic lights or stops,” says Red Travel’s Michele Delange. The incredible panoramas and stunning scenery doesn’t hurt either.
The tour director begins each tour with a Ferrari briefing, explaining the semi-automatic gear shifting, unique to Ferraris and other Formula One race cars, which may not be familiar to novice drivers. The director also reviews the differences among the eight-cylinder, 12-cylinder and Spider models the group will be using. (Red Travel will be adding the newly released 599 GTB to its collection in October.)
Usually two people (one driver and one passenger) travel in each vehicle and take turns driving that model and several others in the caravan. The tour director leads the group in an Alfa Romeo, checking road conditions and allowing guest drivers to concentrate on the driving experience rather than figuring out directions.
Delage insists his groups abide by speed limits, never going more than 130 km (81 miles) per hour A V.I.P. Shuttle (also known as a support van) follows the caravan of Ferraris, carrying the participants’ luggage, which is whisked to the guest rooms before they arrive.
